The Godz being Resurrected
Originally formed in the mid-1970s, The Godz carved out a raw, unapologetic Rock ’n’ Roll sound that earned them a loyal following and a lasting place in underground rock history.
In late 2019, founding member Mark Chatfield made the decision to resurrect The Godz, staying true to the original concept and spirit of the band. As the only surviving original member actively interested in performing (with Bob Hill opting not to return to live shows), Mark took on the responsibility of carrying the legacy forward.
Then came COVID-19...and like so many plans, the project was temporarily shelved.
By 2022, with live music returning, The Godz roared back to life!
Reuniting with past Godz members Eric Mauk (guitar/vocals) and Keith Pickens (drums), and joined by Doug “Sav” Ramey (bass/vocals) and Julie Neal (backing vocals), the Rock ’n’ Roll Machines were once again loud, dangerous, and built for the stage.
In 2023, longtime guitarist Steve Mitchell stepped in to fill the rhythm/lead guitar role. A fixture in the music scene since the 1970s, Steve brings the driving, no-nonsense guitar power that defines The Godz’ signature sound.
The band delivers high-energy performances featuring classics from the self-titled debut Godz, Nothing Is Sacred, Mongolians, and a few surprises along the way.
Now celebrating 50 years of Rock ’n’ Roll, The Godz continue to honor the past while proving the machines are still running strong.
Welcome to The Machine!
